Woody Norman is a writer. To date he has published two biographies,  two historical timeline booklets, and the first of a three-volumen eBook (Kindle) on his four-plus years in the United States Marine Corps in the 1960s. He has also written articles for THE LIVING CHURCH magazine, ANGLICAN DIGEST, THE HISTORIOGRAPHER, the online EncyclopediaOfAlabama and EncyclopediaVirginia.

Memberships include the Alabama Historical Society, Alabama Writers' Forum, the Virginia Historical Society, and the Biographers International Organization (BIO). He is also a member of the Historical Society of the Episcopal Church.

Formerly an adviser and consultant in the information technology outsourcing industry, he is retired from Electronic Data Systems, Inc. (now part of Hewlett-Packard Company).

Woody Norman holds earned degrees from Old Dominion University (B.A. philosophy); Lindenwood University (M.B.A.); Anglican School of Theology-Dallas (L.Min. ministry); and the School of Theology at Sewanee: The University of the South (S.T.M., theology).

He served in the United States Marines Corps during the Vietnam era.
